Aloha,
Lara and I hiked through Lehuʻula Iki on tuesday, taking in the beauty of the land and all the incredible fruit trees—citrus, bananas, mangoes, coffee, and macadamia nuts—along with a lush bamboo grove. The space is peaceful and full of potential, but there’s still a lot of work ahead to clear and restore it and start the community garden. Excited for what’s to come! #LehuulaIki #KīhāManā #HawaiianLandStewardship #AlohaAina

Lehu'ula Iki Update – April 17, 2025
Day Two of Land Clearing
This past Monday marked an inspiring second day of land clearing at Lehu'ula Iki! We made great progress, clearing about an acre and uncovering a sweet tangerine tree tucked away in the brush — a beautiful reminder of the land's abundance.
Puaita Pulotu is leading the charge as our project foreman, ensuring things move forward smoothly and with purpose. Mahalo to Brother Eugene, who operated the heavy machinery with skill and care, helping us open up more space for planting.
Adding to the spirit of aloha, Puaita prepared a delicious lunch of smoked meat and sweet potato — the perfect mid-day meal to fuel our hard-working crew.
Momentum is growing as we continue shaping Lehu'ula Iki into a thriving community garden. Mahalo to everyone lending their hands and hearts to this effort!
